Like many of our customers who have small children, grandchildren, or even pets, an open swimming pool is a major safety concern.
So what are my options to make my pool safe? Your best option depends on your pool, your needs, and your budget.
If you are building a brand-new pool and it is rectangular in shape, an automatic pool cover is the best option. The automatic pool cover can be integrated into the pool during the construction process so the tracks – that guide the pool cover – are hidden under your deck and coping for a seamless look. Your pool would look great and be safe as well. Simply pushing a button and your pool is easily and conveniently covered.
The auto cover can also be installed on a preexisting pool in some cases. The pool deck will need to be flat around the pool without any obstacles like waterfalls. A deck mounted automatic pool cover system provides the same amount of safety and convenience as a built-in automatic pool cover system.
The auto cover costs more than a fence but it provides benefits a pool fence does not offer. Both the pool cover and the pool fence provide a high degree of safety but only the pool cover provides other benefits including: adding/maintaining water temperature, reducing/virtually eliminating evaporation, savings chemicals and time cleaning the pool, and because it keeps yard debris and pollen out of the pool it is always ready for swimming.
If your pool is not flat on all sides, or you’re not sure if an automatic pool cover is right for your situation, another great option to consider is a removable mesh pool safety fence. The mesh safety fence is the safest way to make your pool safe when an retractable pool cover is not an option. The removable safety pool fence has a self-closing, self-latching, lockable gate designed to close reliably.
Our pool fence also comes in two sizes: four or five foot tall. It can be removed by an adult without the use of tools in minutes if you have the need, like for a party. Although, most of our customers keep the pool fence up for parties as well because they prefer the safety even during their event.
